The Engulfed Juniper

The ash from the fire
falls like early snow
I stand and watch
my life unfold.

The ash crackles
dancing through the tree
I now know
why this came to be.

The ash rises to the sky
I come to know all
in a very different way.

Why do you paint? they ask
I reply:
to make the world a more radiant place.
